Lifespan offers a full range of clinical and anatomic pathology testing to physicians, whether or not they belong to the Lifespan hospital network. In 2002, we performed 4.5 million tests. That number grew to 6.1 million the following year. In 2004, our labs processed 8.4 million tests in more than twenty specialties and subspecialties, some of which are unique to the region.

Lifespan Laboratories provides physicians access not only to data, but also to the advice of experts recognized as leaders in their fields.

In recent years, we have recruited a team of subspecialists second to none and created pathology centers of excellence at Lifespan partner hospitals. More than 400 professionals staff our labs.

Follow through is fast and complete. Lifespan's automated lab allows for a robust quality assurance and quality control program.

It reduces the risk of contamination and misidentification, increasing patient safety. Test results can be reported to physicians via fax, mail or LifeLinks. And Lifespan is committed to developing new procedures; e.g., molecular testing for coagulation studies.
